Referral Disclosure
Last updated: September 3, 2026
Best Movers Nationwide believes in being upfront about how our service works and how we make money. This page explains our referral relationships in plain language.
How Our Service Works
Best Movers Nationwide is a free quote-matching service. When you submit your move details through our form — including your name, contact information, origin and destination, move date, home size, and the services you need — we share that information with one or more independent, licensed moving companies (“Moving Partners”) who may be able to help with your move. Those companies then contact you directly with quotes, availability, and next steps.
We May Be Paid for Referrals
Best Movers Nationwide operates as a lead-generation and referral business. We may receive a fee, commission, or other compensation from a Moving Partner when we refer your request to them, when they contact you, or when your move is booked, depending on our arrangement with that company. This is how we keep our quote service free for you.
This compensation does not increase what you pay. You do not pay Best Movers Nationwide anything to use our service, and any fee a Moving Partner pays us for the referral is a cost of that company’s own marketing and customer acquisition — it is not added to your moving bill because you came through our site.
Inclusion Is Not an Endorsement or a Guarantee
A moving company’s participation in our network, or the fact that we referred your request to them, is not an endorsement, certification, or guarantee of that company’s licensing, insurance, pricing, reliability, or quality of service. We do not inspect trucks, audit crews, or independently verify every claim a Moving Partner makes about itself. We also do not guarantee that any particular company will contact you, that you will receive a certain number of quotes, or that any quoted price will be the final price.
Verify Any Mover Before You Book or Pay
Because we are a referral platform and not the mover itself, the responsibility for vetting and choosing a moving company rests with you. Before booking a move or paying any deposit, we strongly recommend that you:
- Confirm the company’s USDOT number (required for interstate moves) using the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s search tool at fmcsa.dot.gov;
- Verify the company holds appropriate state and/or federal operating authority and insurance for your move;
- Read recent, verified customer reviews from multiple sources;
- Get a written estimate and understand whether it is binding or non-binding;
- Avoid paying a large deposit or cash-only deposit before a written contract is signed;
- Ask directly about the company’s licensing, insurance coverage, and claims process.
Your Rights on an Interstate Move
Federal rules protect you no matter how you found your mover. A household goods mover registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) must give you FMCSA’s “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move” information, a written estimate before the move, and an order for service and a bill of lading for you to sign. Read every document before you sign it, make sure the estimate type (binding or non-binding) is written on it, and keep copies until any damage claim is fully settled.
How to Report a Problem With a Mover
If a mover you were connected with refuses to deliver your belongings until you pay more than the law allows, misses its delivery window without explanation, or will not respond to a claim, you can file a complaint with the FMCSA National Consumer Complaint Database at nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov or by calling 1-888-368-7238 (1-888-DOT-SAFT). You can also tell us about the problem using the contact details below.
